The G doesn't sound right. I think the first part (We're the day birds) is Dm C Bb C.
At the other places G should be replaced by Gm.
Apart from that it looks pretty good.
I know the chords can be more accurate and tasty, and the chords you suggested make an interesting twist! Anyway my purpouse was to post a simple way to play this song for novice level ;)
