Bm G Bm G Bm
One wound-up punch of intuition, lays
    G D E
flat my whole take on us.
Bm G Bm G
You're the girl on the wing of a barnstormer,
Bm G D
the tidal rabbit who came of
E Bm
age before her time.

Bm -> Bbm -> A (rundown)

A G D A
We could have been so good-natured if I'd relented when you insisted,
Bm G D A
but we've been backed against all nature's walls far too long.

Bm G D A
You felt abandoned by me, I recall the sunshine as you were melting
Bm G D A
and though the comedy softens the fall, they still hear us with their
G
ears to the wall.

Bm G Bm G Bm G
I sold all my evil motives, no icicles
      D E
stuck in my hide.
Bm G Bm G Bm
I'm through with riddles, I know we're little
          G D
just help me feel warm
E
inside.

                    G D
Before we take this ride and let it slide, into the cracks where fall and
                    G D
winter collide. I surrender all my gall in a song of modern love.
G D A
Remember you're the one who summoned me above any other kind.

A G D A
We could have been so good-natured if you'd relented when I insisted,
Bm G D A
we take a week off, let the garden grow by itself,
Bm G D A

Bm G D A

Before we take this ride and let it slide into the cracks where fall

Remember you're the one who summoned me above any other kind.

G    G -> Bm (slide)

First off, I've built on the previous version and filled in some vital missing chords,
changed some wrong ones and amended the lyrics. So the ground work comes courtesy of the
other version.

Now, you can play this with either barre chords or open, it doesn't really matter. I
personally like to play it in barre chords, because in the verse, I like to go Bm, then
slide from the G back up to Bm. It sounds really good, although I don't think the shins
do it that way.

Listen to the song for the timings, how many bars etc, but it's all fairly simple.

If playing open chords, you can quickly hammer on a pinky on the 3rd fret of the B
string at the end of the A chord (making it an asus4)in the pre chorusy section (could have
been so good natured if I'd relented when you insisted (hammer on)) etc. You can hear
this quite clearly in the song, adds a nice touch and makes it sound a little more
interesting on guitar.

The same goes for Barre chords, although then you can just do a slight bend with your
middle finger at the end of the A.
