To Forgive by Smashing Pumpkins

Intro:
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|--------7-----2--------4----4----4--2--0------------------------------------|
|----5-------0------2-----2----2-----------2---------------------------------|
|-3--------2------0----------------------------------------------------------|
The rest of the song is correct in the other tabs...just thought I'd send
my version of the intro. Remember the tuning is Eb. I think the rattling
in the background is the rattle of the drums. You'll recognize it if
you've ever played in a room with drums. Enjoy. :-) Alex Spitzer.

 TO FORGIVE
 Transcribed By Adam Morris

One of the most emotional sounding songs on the
 double CD... great stuff.

 1/2 step down (Duh)

 Intro (Fig 1)
             *
|--------------|---------------|------------------|---------|
|------------3-|---------------|------------------|---------|
|-------2------|---------------|------------------|---------|
|----0-----0---|-------2-----2-|-------4----4---4-|---------|
|--------------|----0-----0----|----2-----2-------|-2-0-----|
|--3-----------|-2-------------|-0------------0---|-----0-2-|

* At times this note is played with a 2 on the G-string as well.

|----------------------------------------------------|
|------------0-----------0---------------------------|
|------------0-----------0---------------------------|
|----------------------------------------------------|
|----------------------------------------------------|
|--7---/9-\5----0---2--3-----------------------------|

Really unsure about the open strings up there :)

CHORUS - Main riff except where it says "Nothing is Important"
it goes to this instead of the normal bit.

|-------------|---------------------------------------|
|-------3-----|---------------------------------------|
|-------2-----|-----0---------------------------------|
|----4------4-|-----2---------------------------------|
|-2-------2---|---2-----------------------------------|
|-------------|-0-------------------------------------|

The rise thingy goes like this
                                      * Same octave as previous
A....B....C#....D..E..F#....G....A....B..C#
Back down.. *
                    Higher Octave then previous
A....B....C#....D..E
Back down again

B...C#...D..E..F

Back to the main thingy.

I hope you like it. I LOVE this song..Darcy and Billy sound

----------by Smashing Pumpkins---------

the song?s tuned a half step down to Eb,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb,Eb

		main riff:
   D9/G A5/F# B5/E a
e--------0----------------------------|
b-------2-----------------------------|
g-----3-------------------------------|
d-------------2--2----4--4----4-------|
a-----------0---0---2---2--2-2---2-0--|
e-3-------2-------0-------------------|

repeats 2x then:
   B C# A E F# G
g--4--/6-------------------------------------|
d--4--/6--7----2--/4--5----------------------|
a--2--/4--7----2--/4--5----------------------|
e---------5----0--/2--3----------------------|
(band comes in here)

repeats 2x then back to main riff for verse
?ten times we moved...?

goes to chords when he goes ?right as rain....?
	B C# A E F# G

then chorus you strum these chords in half notes until the B5/E:

holding back the.....fool a- gain...
   G D/F# E B5/E a
g--0-----------------2-------------------------|
d--0-----------------0-------2---4--4----4-----|
a--2-----------------0-------2-2---2--2-2--2-0-|
e--3-----------------2-------0-----------------|

holding back the.....fool pretends...
   G D/F# E B5/E a
g--0-----------------2-------------------------|
d--0-----------------0-------2---4--4----4-----|
a--2-----------------0-------2-2---2--2-2--2-0-|
e--3-----------------2-------0-----------------|

I forget you...	..forget...	nothing is...important...
   G D/F# B A
g--0----------------2---------4------------2-----|
d--0----------------0---------4------------2-----|
a--2----------------0---------2------------0-----|
e--3----------------2----------------------------|

holding back the.....fool a-.gain...
   G D/F# E B5/E a
g--0-----------------2-------------------------|
d--0-----------------0-------2---4--4----4-----|
a--2-----------------0-------2-2---2--2-2--2-0-|
e--3-----------------2-------0-----------------|

then the verse part again...

?I sensed my loss...?

this time on the verse it stays on the riff without going to the chords

then, on the chorus the last time, instead of going down to the E:

holding back the....fool a-...gain...
   G D/F# A
g--0-----------------2--------2--|
d--0-----------------0--------2--|
a--2-----------------0--------0--|
e--3-----------------2-----------|

then there?s some cool synth part that I haven?t figured out yet. and the chords keep going up the neck
you hit a G on the 10th fret.
That?s pretty much all there is to the song. you?ll have to listen to it to get the exact rhythms right,
I think the notes are all right. =P
