Capo: 3

Tabbed by: Joe Lamb

   Fmaj7 D
Call me morbid, call me pale

              Fmaj7 D
I've spent six years on your trail

   Am G F
   Six long years

           D G
   On your trail

           Fmaj7 D
Call me morbid, call me pale

              Fmaj7 D
I've spent six years on your trail

   Am G F D G
Six full years of my life on your trail

              E F C G
And if you have five seconds to spare

              E F
Then I'll tell you the story of my life :

   C G
   Sixteen, clumsy and shy

   E Am F
I went to London and I

     C G Em E
   I booked myself in at the Y ... W.C.A.

               Fmaj7 D
   I said : "I like it here - can I stay ?

     Fmaj7 D
   I like it here - can I stay ?

   Am G F
   Do you have a vacancy

                   D G
   For a Back-scrubber?"

She was left behind, and sour
And she wrote to me, equally dour
She said : "In the days when you were
   Hopelessly poor
   I just liked you more..."

And if you have five seconds to spare
Then I'll tell you the story of my life :
   Sixteen, clumsy and shy
I went to London and I
   I booked myself in at the Y ... W.C.A.
   I said : "I like it here - can I stay ?
   I like it here - can I stay ?
And do you have a vacancy
   For a Back-scrubber ?"

Call me morbid, call me pale
I've spent too long on your trail
   Far too long
   Chasing your tail
   Oh ...

Doesn't sound right in many ways, but closer if capod on 2 rather than 3.

I like this version, sounds pretty good to me. I like playing it in G, sounds a bit more deep also the Gmaj7 sounds better IMO. Try this option for the Gmaj7: 3,0,0,4,3,2 (use your thumb for the top bass note) and lift off you pinky on the highest bottom note for a sus effect)

Also if you play it in G (or E) remember to a hammer on and off on both the verse chord... listen to the album version to hear the nuances.. makes a nice touch if you play it this way.
