So that's what's played in the intro and the verses, and overtop of the chords in
the chorus. I also wrote in the chords for the verses if you don't want to deal
with the different parts (which are played at the same time)/multiple guitars.
[Verse 1]
G Em G Cadd9 G Em G Cadd9
I choked back tears today, cuz I can't begin to say
G Em D/F# Cadd9 G Em D/F# Cadd9
how much you've shaped this boy, these last ten years or more.
G Em G Cadd9 G Em G Cadd9
My friends we've seen it all, triumphs to drunken falls,
G Em D/F# Cadd9 G Em D/F# Cadd9
and our bones are broken still, but our hearts are joined until...
G Cadd9
Time slips its tired hand, into our tired hands.
G Cadd9
We've years till that day, I've so much more to say....
[Chorus]
G Em D/F# Cadd9
You give the strength to me, a strength I never had.
G Em D/F# Cadd9
I was a mess you see, I'd lost the plot so bad.
G Em D/F# Cadd9
You drag me up and out, out of the darkest place.
G Em D/F# Cadd9
There's not a single doubt, when I can see your faces...
[Verse 2]
G Em G Cadd9 G Em G Cadd9
my friends we've seen it all, when it made no sense at all.
G Em D/F# Cadd9 G Em D/F# Cadd9
You dared to light my path, and found the beauty in the aftermath.
G Cadd9
let me hold you up, like you held me up.
G Cadd9
Its too long to never say this, you must know i've always thought...
G Em D/F# Cadd9
You give the strength to me, a strength I never had.
G Em D/F# Cadd9
I was a mess you see, I'd lost the plot so bad.
G Em D/F# Cadd9
You drag me up and out, out of the darkest place.
G Em D/F# Cadd9 G(let it ring)
There's not a single doubt, when I can see your faces.
As far as I can tell this is flawless, I wish I could vote it up higher so that this one would be the first result; I'm sure people would appreciate that. But thank you so much for putting this up.
I love this song, thank you for putting it up!!!
Just 2 little things:
I think the verse sounds better when you play the same as during the chorus, meaning D/F# instead of the second G.
So basically G Em D/F# Cadd9 for the whole verse
and for the pre-chorus I would play D instead of G.
Apart from that, amazing tab, thanks for putting it up! It sounds really nice!
