By Daniel McHugh
This is one of the best songs on new album- i know that its weird (A) going C G F in the
and that Am would seem more appropriate but i listened very closely and A seems better
Am even tho (A) doesn't match the key- tell me what u think
Capo 4
Verse 1
A C
Please don't let this turn into something it's not
G F
I can only give you everything I've got
A C
I can't be as sorry as you think I should
G F
but I still love you more than anyone else could
A C
All that I keep thinking throughout this whole flight
G F
Is 'it could take my whole damn life to make this right'
A C
This splintered mast I'm holding on won't save me long
G F
Because I know fine well that what I did was wrong
Chorus
Am C F
G
The last girl in the last reason to make this last for as long as I could
Am C F G
First kiss and the first time that I felt connected to anything
Am C F
The weight of water, the way you taught me to look past everything I had
G
ever learned
Am C F G
The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love
Verse 2
A C
We have got through so much worse than this before
G F
What's so different this time that you can't ignore?
A C
You say it is much more than just my last mistake
G F
And we should spend some time apart for both our sakes
Chorus
x2
Piano Solo
A
Outro
A
And I don't know where to look
A
My words just break and melt
A
Please just save me from this darkness
A
Please just save me from this darkness
There seems 2 be change in chord in outro but piano stays at a constant (A) i think so
what you sing to if your singing along- mite be slight variations in outro and piano solo
me what you think
well, the chord key is deffinately Am/C (with capo i'd be C#m/E)
what they've apparently done, is to add a sharp at the 3rd in the Aminor, which lifts it to an Amajor. (A C E -> A C# E). According to your own little A minor scale, you can just add that sharp as well.
It's a solid start.
I agree with you. I play the piano so I know the notes for this song. A is correct, not Am.
