I think the Fmaj7 sounds great in the verse but doesn't fit in the chorus. I'd rather play a straight F for a clear and optimistic sound. For the verses, though, it's great, the added e sounds perfectly melancholic and fits the added melody(e-e-e-e-d-d-d-d-b-b-b-b-a-a-a-a) better than an F chord. Very good.
Fmaj7 in chorus sounds way out of place...pure F will suffice as pointed out by Gewaltmuggel.
