                                                         "Cheerleader"
                                                         by St. Vincent

At the time of this post, there were no accurate tabs/chords for this song on the
internet, so I decided to serve the people with my first post. This song can be
found on St. Vincent’s album “Strange Mercy” or the awesome video at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEY9GJAm8bA.

"Anything we can do to raise consciousness and help end the oppression of women
worldwide is a cause I am fully behind. I chose the track 'Cheerleader' because I
think it speaks to not wanting to be an idle object anymore. It’s about taking
control of your own life and not kowtowing to the desires of others."

- St. Vincent (Annie Clark)

It’s not exactly a beginner’s song but as long as you know your major and minor
bar chords and the note names on the guitar, you’ll be good to go. Please enjoy,
although stripped of it’s glorious effects.

(Intro) | G Bm | Bb Am |

G Bm
I've had good times
Bb Am
With some bad guys
F Am
I've told whole lies
F D
With a half smile
G Bm
Held your bare bones
Bb Am
With my clothes on
F Am
I've thrown rocks
F D
That hit both my arms

Bb Am
I don't know what good it serves
Bb Am
Pouring my purse in the dirt

            G Bb C
But I-I-I-I-I don't wanna be your cheerleader no more
            G Bb Am
But I-I-I-I-I don't wanna be your cheerleader no more

G Bm Bb Am

G Bm
I've played dumb
Bb Am
When I knew better
F Am
Tried so hard
F D
Just to be clever
G Bm
I know honest thieves
Bb Am
I call family
F Am
I've seen America
F D
With no clothes on

            G Bb C
But I-I-I-I-I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more
            G Bb Am
But I-I-I-I-I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more

Bb Am
        I don't know what I deserve
Bb Am
But for you I could work

Bb Am
Cause I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more
Bb Am
I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more
G Bb C
I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more
G Bb C
I don't wanna be a dirt eater no more
G Bb C
I don't wanna be a dirt eater no more
G Bb Am ...
I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more

instead of Bb in the verses it should be Dm and the D should be D7 i think. for the "i dont know what good it serves / i dont know what i deserve" instead of Bb to Am it should be Eb to Dm. i think that will fix it!!
i figured this out through this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mbGj8kf464 in which her guitar is tuned a full step down.
