The Band Perry, "Mother Like Mine"

(intro)
2x
B E

(verse)
          G#m E
She's the sky that holds the clouds
          B F#
She's the lady of the house
  G#m E B
A blind believer in all I dare to be
           G#m E
There's no safer place I've found
         B F#
Than the shoulder of her white night gown
  G#m E B
Oh I've got the best and the worst of her in me
    C#m
I'd share her if I could

(chorus)
       E B
Oh the wars would all be over
             F# B
'Cause she'd raise us all as friends
       E B G#m F#
And no one would ever wonder if somebody wanted them
     G#m E
We'd walk on grass that's greener
        G#m E
And our cares would all be freer
       B F# B
If the world had a mother like mine

(instrumental)
2x
B E

(verse)
          G#m E
She's our father's one great love
          B F#
She's the one he wanted most
          G#m E B
She's the light in the window of the house I grew up in
    G#m E
She takes the midnight call
          B F#
She's the bravest of us all
    G#m E B
And she sings in the garden that she let's her hair down in

(chorus)
       E B
Oh the wars would all be over
             F# B
'Cause she'd raise us all as friends
       E B G#m F#
And no one would ever wonder if somebody wanted them
  G#m E
Tonight would be easier
        G#m E
And our dreams would all be deeper
       B F# B
If the world had a mother like mine

(bridge)
      E B
Don't go away, don't go away from me
     E
Oh I understand she is a helping hand, still
F#
   I have to say

(verse)
          G#m E
She's the sky that holds the clouds
          B F#
She's the lady of our house
B E B
We all need her but no one more than me

(chorus-out)
       E B
Oh the wars would all be over
             F# B
'Cause she'd raise us all as friends
       E B G#m F#
And no one would ever wonder if somebody wanted them
     G#m E
We'd walk on grass that's greener
        G#m E
And the dishes would all be cleaner
       B F# B E
If the world had a mother like mine
         B E
Ooh like mine eh-yehy

a great tab, but here is a little hint i figured out to make it easier to play: transpose the song two steps down and put a capo on the 2nd fret. :)

Good idea, this song would be fine picking away in first position. You could even arrange a finger-picking version for yourself if you like, which I think would sound great with this tune. Thanks for the comment lese.

Good point! This is also a simple four chord song if you transpose it up 8 (haha it's also easier for me to sing there!)
