Gtr I (D A D G B E) - 'Drop D' tuning.

I think this is how it was originally played in the 2003 Studio version where you 
can clearly hear the slide from 1st to 10th fret.

Mute by hitting with the same thumb and two fingers used to pluck the three strings.

For this transcription, the bass stays on the 6th string all the time.
