I'm pretty sure that's not it. If you play what you wrote along with the song, it sounds like it works because the notes are in harmony (you're using the right notes). But I've been tabbing this song and the intro is a lot more complex. The first riff is something like:
e|r12p0-h10---------r12p0-|
B|---------r12p0-h3-------|
G|------------------------|
D|------------------------|
A|------------------------|
E|------------------------|
Where "r" is a hammer-on with the picking hand (finger-tap style), "h" is a normal hammer-on, and "p" is a pull-off.
Not only that, but there is a guitar part on each channel so it's complicated.
