Waiting To Know You - The Fiery Furnaces
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: The Valrus
Email: valrus@bluebottle.com

Tuning: Standard

Note: Probably your best bet with this one is to fingerpick it, and
forget about the outro if you're playing solo.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Intro:
[C] [C] [C/B] [C/B] [C/A] [C/A] [F] [G/D]

Verse:
[C] [C]
I'm
          [C/B] [C/B] [C/A] [C/A]
waiting to know you, far away
    [F] [G/D] [C] [C]
Send up a balloon, says write to me soon, yeah
              [C/B] [C/B] [C/A] [C/A]
I'm waiting to know you, far away
   [F] [G/D] [C] [C]
Set up at the pier, wait 'till you get here, yeah

Chorus:
        [F] [F]
And when I'm about to give up hope
   [Am] [Am]
But nope, with my telescope
   [F] [F]
I'm standing guard the navy yard
  [C] [C/B] [C/A]
To see, could there one for me be?
[F] [G/D]
Baby oh no, where did you go?

Synth solo over intro chords:
[C] [C] [C/B] [C/B] [C/A] [C/A] [F] [G/D]

Verse:
I'm waiting to know you, far away
Flashlight the cave, listen short-wave, yeah
I'm waiting to know you, far away
Dredge up the lake, all the trees shake, yeah

Chorus:
And when I'm about to give up hope,
But nope, with my telescope,
I'm standing guard the navy yard
To see, could there one for me be?
Baby oh no, where did you go?

Synth solo over intro chords:
[C] [C] [C/B] [C/B] [C/A] [C/A] [F] [G/D]

Verse:
I'm waiting to know you, far away
Send up a balloon, says write to me soon, yeah
I'm waiting to know you, far away
Flashlight the cave, listen short-wave, yeah

Chorus:
And when I'm about to give up hope,
But nope, with my telescope,
I'm standing guard the navy yard
To see, could there one for me be?
Baby oh no, where did you go?

Synth solo over intro chords:
[C] [C] [C/B] [C/B] [C/A] [C/A]
[F] [G/D]
Baby oh no, where did you go?

Outro:
[G] [G/f#] [G/E]
[G] [G/f#] [G/E]
[C] [Am]
[G] [G/f#] [G/E]
[Dm] [C#] [Dm] [C#]
[Dm] [C#] [Dm] [C#]

[C] [C/B] [C/A]

Synth solo (best played with a slide if you attempt it at all on guitar):

    repeat 3 times
E |-3-/12----8-\3-/8-----5-\3--|--10\8--8-/12\10\8-/12\10\8-/12\10\8-/15-|-
B |---------------------------o|-----------------------------------------|-
G |----------------------------|-----------------------------------------|-
D |----------------------------|-----------------------------------------|-
A |---------------------------o|-----------------------------------------|-
E |----------------------------|-----------------------------------------|-

For the outro guitar solo, just play the bass notes of the given chords:
G F# E G F# E C Am

over the chords. The piano does most of the work in the outro and would be
nigh-impossible to replicate on the guitar.
