Can anyone help me with the strumming pattern for this song please?
I think this should also be tuned down a half or a whole step. Sounds a little high to me.
up-down-up (quickly).down-down-up. Then do the normal pattern twice for Em.
As for the strumming pattern, pat354, it's a nice country rhythm and is fun once you get it down. A bit more advanced if you're a total beginner, but I'll explain it best I can.
You first strike the bass strings, then all 6 strings quickly afterwards. There's a slight pause, then strum
Then repeat!
You do that 4 times for each one-chord line in the verse (like "I was born in a town where the rivers flow free")
Then on lines like "It's a red sky night and I'm quite alright," you do that strumming pattern I talked about once for the G. The D inbetween goes like this:
