The Dreamer - The Tallest Man On Earth
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: a.cornelius
Tabbed from: Berlin Arena Galshaus, 11.08.10
Studio A at the Alternate, date unknown
Email: andrewcornelius1@gmail.com
Tuning: standard
--------------------------------------
This tab is written the exact way that Kristian Matsson plays the song. The tab was written by
identifying the chords by ear, then honing the tab by watching concert video.
--------------------------------------
One thing that may go against common practice if you want to play this song in the same style
as Matsson:
He transitions to the F chord from the C by maintaining the "C shape" and covering the first fret
of the E string with his thumb.
-------------------
Intro/Verse:
-------------------
Chord Movement - Dm>G>C>F>Dm7>G>C>F
e|---5---3---0-----------1-----8---3---0-----------1---|
B|---6---3---1-----------1-----6---3---1-----------1---|
G|---7---4---0-----------2-----5---4---0-----------2---|
D|---7---5---2--2p0-2p0--3-----7---5---2--2p0-2p0--3---|
A|---5---5---3-----------3---5-----5---3-----------3---|
E|-------3---3-----------1---------3---3-----------1---|
The introduction and verse are essentially identical. The only differences are that the verse does
not have the embellishments between the C and F chord (the pulloffs on the d string), and he
plays a Dm instead of the Dm7.
On the last line of each verse, he plays this progression to bridge from verse-to-verse and
verse-to-chorus:
E>F>Gsus4>G
e|---0---1---3---3---|
B|---0---1---3---3---|
G|---1---2---5---4---|
D|---2---3---5---5---|
A|---2---3---5---5---|
E|---0---1---3---3---|
-------------------
Chorus
-------------------
Chord Movement - C>F>G>C>Am>F>Gsus4>G
e|---0---1---0---0-------0---1---3---3---|
B|---1---1---1---1-------1---1---3---3---|
G|---0---2---0---0-------2---2---5---4---|
D|---2---3---0---2-------2---3---5---5---|
A|---3---3---2---3--0h2--0---3---5---5---|
E|---3---1---3---3-----------1---3---3---|
--------------------------------------
You can listen to the recording to pick up rhythm, but its very easy to follow along once you have
all the pieces. Enjoy!
Are all the barre chords with thumb over neck or only the f chord
Only the F chord, and even that not all the time, only when it is convenient - typically when shifting from the open C shape. You'll find it's easier to bar the F chord before moving up to the Gsus4>G movement.
