Artist: Them Crooked Vultures
Album: Them Crooked Vultures
Track: Warsaw Or the First Breath You Take After You Give Up
Length: 7:50
Difficulty: Intermediate
I had trouble figuring out this song, but managed to get down most parts of this song.
tab DOES NOT include the solo because I mainly improvise on it as it is basic scales in
just get yourself a wah pedal and have fun.
This is my first tab so this tab is far from perfect or anywhere close to the real
but I play by ear, so this is what I managed to figure out, and it sounds pretty damn close.
Not every part of the song is here just bits and pieces that I learned. But if you can
this I think you can get the rest of the song on your own!!
Enjoy, and please leave comments!
Key:
^ = slight note bend
^^ = full bend

Chorus
These are just the chords. Listen to the song to get a feel for how they're played
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--15--14--13---10-10--8---10----------------------------------------|
G|--16--15--14---11-11--9---11---(2x)---------------------------------|

Middle Part
Right after the solo where the drum beat breaks down at about 4:58. When done, repeat
part again
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--8p5---5-8p5---5-8p5---5-8p5---5-(2x)--9p6---6-9p6---6-9p6---6-9p6-|
D|------7-------7-------7-------7-------------7-------7-------7-------|

e|------------------------------------|-------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------|-------------------------------|
G|---6-9p6---6-9p6---6-9p6---6-9p6---6|-------------------------------|
D|-7-------7-------7-------7-------7--|-------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------|-------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------|-------------------------------|
With the second part of the riff above, Homme sometimes adds a note in that riff. You
change it up from time to time.
e|--------------------------------------------------|
B|---------7---------------7------------------------|
G|-9p6---6---6---6-9p6---6---6---6-9p6--------------|
D|-----7-------7-------7-------7-------7------------|
A|--------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------|
Somewhere in that middle part at about 5:22 that little riff is as follows
e|--------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------|
G|-12p9----9-12p9----9-12p9----9-12p9----(2x)-|
D|------10--------10--------10--------10------|
A|--------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------|
Then...
e|--------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------|
G|-11p8----8-11p8----8-11p8----8-11p8----(2x)-|
D|------9---------9---------9---------9-------|
A|--------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------|
And finally the ending, a great transition into the end of the song. The highlight of
song for me.
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------13----10------------13---10--|
G|---------------------------------------0-----0-------------0----0---|
D|-3-2-0---0-2-3p2p0--5-3-2-0-7-5--------13----10--11-10-8---13---10--|
A|-------3------------------------7-3--0-----0-------------0----0-----|
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
e|---------------------------|
B|------13---10--------------|
G|------0----0---------------|
D|------13---10--------9--10-|
A|----0----0-----10-12----10-|
E|-8^------------------------|
Excellent. I would just change this:
e|-------------|
B|-------------|
G|-------------|
D|-------------|
A|--------9--10|
E|10--12-------|
e|-------------|
B|-------------|
G|-------------|
D|-------------|
A|---------10--|
E|10h11h12-----|
It's in the wrong tuning. He tunes the low E string down to an A.
Actually scratch that. Yours sounds right.
