If I Could Have a Beer with Jesus

To do it exactly like Thomas Rhett does, (in the same key) you will need to either tune
your guitar down one half step (which is what it appears he does) and play the chord as
written below. You can alsi play it one half step lower (which is harder). Or you can
keepyour guitar tuned normally and simply sing it one half step higher. Blessings - Rog

Keep it slow.

Intro.: G D C G D C

   G D G
If I could have a beer with Jesus,
G D G
Heaven knows I'd sip it nice and slow
    C D G
I'd try to pick a place that ain't too crowded
   C D
or gladly go wherever he wants to go
        G D G
You can bet I'd order up a couple tall ones
    G D G
and tell the waitress put 'em on my tab
       C D G
I'd be sure to let him do the talkin'
C D
careful when I got the chance to ask

C D G
how'd you turn the other cheek
   C D G
To save a sorry soul like me
       C
Do you hear the prayers I send what happens when life ends
    Am C D
And when you think you're comin' back again
         C D G D C
I'd tell everyone, but no one would believe it
   C D G
If I could have a beer with Jesus

G D C G D C

   G D G
If I could have a beer with Jesus,
    G D G
I'd put my whole paycheck in that jukebox
    C D G
I'd fill it up with nothing but the good stuff,
    C D
sit somewhere we couldn't see a clock

        C D G
Ask him how'd you turn the other cheek
   C D G
To save a sorry soul like me
         C
Have you been there from the start,
          C
how'd you change a sinner's heart
       Am D
And is heaven really just beyond the stars
         C D G D C
I'd tell everyone, but no one would believe it
   C D G
If I could have a beer with Jesus

       C
He can probably only stay, for just a couple rounds
      Am C D
But I hope and pray he'd stay untill we shut the whole place down

        C D G
Ask him how'd you turn the other cheek
   C D G
To save a sorry soul like me
       C
What's on the other side? Is mom and daddy alright?
          Am C D
And if it ain't no trouble tell them I said hi
         C D G D C
I'd tell everyone, but no one would believe it
   C D G
If I could have a beer with Jesus

         C D G D C
I'd tell everyone, but no one would believe it
   C D G
If I could have a beer with Jesus

As always. All appreciation goes to anyone that first transcribes a song. In all respect, I wish to add this revised addition to the song. Any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to let me know. Regards in the deepest respect....LG McGraf.
