MARY JANE'S LAST DANCE (INDIANA GIRL)
Tom Petty
Intro/Verses: Am-G-D
Chorus: G-A-G-A-G
Use G Harp
She grew up in an Indiana town
Had a good lookin' Mama who was never around
But she grew up tall and she grew up right
With them Indiana boys on an Indiana night
She came down here at the age of 18
She blew the boys away - It was more than they'd seen
We were introduced and we both started groovin'
She said I dig you baby - But I gotta keep movin' - on - she's movin' on
Chorus:
Last dance with Mary Jane - One more time to feel the pain
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again
Well I don't know - but I've been told
You never slow down - you never grow old
I'm tired of screwing up - tired of going down
Tired of myself - tired of this town
Oh my my - Oh hell yes - Honey put on that party dress
Buy me a drink and play me a song
Take me as I came - cause I can't stay long
Chorus
There's pigeons down on Market Square
She's standing there in her underwear
Looking out of a hotel room
The nightfall will be coming soon
Oh my my - Oh hell yes - You gotta put on that party dress
It was cold when I woke up alone
I played my last nickel and walked to the road
Chorus

Repeat chorus and fade:
If you must post information about which harmonica to use, please get it right. If you play these chords, Am, G, D, then you're effectively playing out of A minor, this is the same as playing off the C. In harmonicas, that means you can use three keys of harps. A "C" harp, an "A minor" harp, or an "F" harp, because you can can play a in a crossharp style off the F. There is no way you can play those notes off a G harp. To get it absolutely right, use a C harp and put a little bend in it.
in the chorus, it should be Bm instead of D, everything else sounds right solo... if playing w/ the recording its a little off... i think he tunes his guitar down

The chorues is Em7 (or Bm Depending) A. Not D, A. And it's with a G harp first note is a draw. The Album version is a half-step tuned down and probably played on a G# Harp.
