Intro:
 C

[C]Call you up in the middle of the night,
[Em]like a fire flower flying by,
[Am]you were there like a blow torch burnin',
[G]I was a key that could use a little turnin'

[C]So tired that I couldn't even sleep,
[Em]so many secrets I couldn't keep,
[Am]promised myself I wouldn't weep,
[G]one more promise ' I couldn't keep

[F]It seems no one can [G]help me now,
I'm [C]in too deep theres [Am]no way out,
[F]this time I have [Em]really let myself [G]a-stray '

[C]Runaway train never goin' back,
[Em]wrong way on a one way track
[Am]seems like I should be getting somewhere,
[G]somehow I'm neither here nor there
G {Refrain}
{pause}

[C]Can you help me remember how to smile,
[Em]make it somehow seem all worth while,
[Am]how on earth did I get so jaded,
[G]last mystery seemed so naked

[C]I can go where no one else can go,
[Em]I know what no one else has known,
[Am]here I am just a drowning in the brain,
[G]with a ticket for a runaway train

[F]Everything seems jud[G]ded inside,
[C]day and night earth [Am]and sky,
[F]somehow I just [Em]don't bel[G]ieve it
G {Refrain}

[C]Runaway train never goin' back,
[Em]wrong way on a one way track
[Am]seems like I should be getting somewhere,
[G]somehow I'm neither here nor there

/ C - / Em - / Am - / G - /
/ F G / C Am / F Em G - /

:::QUIET:::
[C]Want a ticket for a runaway train?,
[Em]like a madman laughin' at the rain,
[Am]a little out of touch little in the brain,
[G]its just easier to deal with the pain

[C]Runaway train never goin' back,
[Em]wrong way on a one way track
[Am]seems like I should be getting somewhere,
[G]somehow I'm neither here nor there

[C]Runaway train never comin' back,
[Em]runaway train tearin' up the track,
[Am]runaway train burnin' in my veins,
[G]run away but it always seems the same

/ C - / Em - / Am - / G - /

This is by Soul Asylum. Not Tom Petty. The Tom Petty Song is called Runaway Trains and is completely different.

This isn't Tom Petty. If it is, what album is it from?
