URIAH HEEP - July Morning
(Hensley/Byron)
Tabbed by Alex Volperts aka Quizzus

INTRO:
Keyboards arranged for guitar (I use very slightly distorted sound
with high settings of compressor and chorus and fast phasing to acheive some
similarity with Hammomd sound):

Guitar I - the following is played 6 times (this is notated below as one
round). For the first two rounds only Guitar I plays the following pattern:

  F C F
E-13 -----13-----------13-I-12-------12----------12-I-8-------8----------8--|I
B---13--------13----13----I----13-------13----13----I---10------10----10----|I
G------14--------14-------I-------12-------12-------I------10------10-------|I
D-------------------------I-------------------------I-----------------------|I
A-------------------------I-------------------------I-----------------------|I
E-------------------------I-------------------------I-----------------------|I

  C
E-12-------12----------12-------|I
B----13-------13----13----------|I
G-------12-------12-------I x 6-|
D-------------------------------|I
A-------------------------------|I
E-------------------------------|I

Guitar II (Mick Box part - overdrive & chorus)
Starts when the keyboards (Guitar I) pattern goes for the
third and the fourth rounds:

E-13-13-13-13-I-13-11 -----------I-13-13-13-13-I-13-11----------15--|I
B-------------I--------13-11-13~~I-------------I-------13-11-13-----|I
G-------------I------------------I-------------I--------------------|I
D-------------I------------------I-------------I--------------------|I
A-------------I------------------I-------------I--------------------|I
E-------------I------------------I-------------I--------------------|I

I- bend this note one tone up
I and graduly return to its normal
                                         I  pitch (A-->G) - fast downstrokes
                                         V
E----11---11----11---11-I---13-12------I-15-15-15-15-15-15-15-15-15-15-15--|I
B-13---13----13----13---I-13-------13~-I-----------------------------------|I
G-----------------------I--------------I-----------------------------------|I

E-----------------------I--------------I-----------------------------------|I

E-15-13-----------|I
B------13-15-13---|-I
G-----------------|I
D-----------------|I
A-----------------|I
E-----------------|I

The fifth and the sixth rounds of intro:
Guitar II plays power chords:

  F5 C5 F5 C5
E----------------I-------------I---------I-------------------|I
B----------------I-------------I---------I-------------------|I
G----------------I-------------I---------I-------------I x 2-|
D-8--8--8--8--8--I-8--8--8--8--I-3-3-3-3-I-8--8--8--8--------|I

VERSE:
Clean sound with slight reverberation:

Cm - VIII Fm - VIII A# - VI - arpegios
There I was on a July morning looking for love.
With the strength of a new day dawning and the beautiful sun.
At the sound of the first bird singing I was leaving for home.
With the storm and the night behind me and a road of my own.

REFRAIN:

A---6---I---5---I--6--8--I--------------|I
E---6---I---3---I--4--6--I-8-7-6-5-4-3--|I

With the day
        came the resolution
                          I'll be looking for you.

La la la laaaa

Repeat verse and refrain:

I was looking for love in the strangest places.
There wasn't a stone that I left unturned.
I must have tried more than a thousand faces,
but not one was aware of the fire that burned

In my heart,
in my mind,
in my soul.
In my heart,
in my mind,
in my soul.

KEYBOARDS SOLO:
I did not tab this for guitar...I do not tab solos at all :)

G-------I-------I--------I--------------|I
D---8---I---5---I--6--8--I--------------|I
A---6---I---5---I--6--8--I--------------|I

Refrain and verse one more time:

There I was on a July morning - I was looking for love.
With the strength of a new day dawning and the beautiful sun.
At the sound of the first bird singing I was leaving for home.
With the storm and the night behind me and a road of my own.

With the day
came the resolution
I'll be looking for you.

SOLOS and OUTRO:

Mad Manfred Mann's solo and Mick wah-wah guitar frenziness are accompanied
with this guitar line.
Drive, chorus.
