I recommend that you learn the song to this live version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_SRqCMwUm4 rather than the studio version because the 
live version's bass is a lot
easier to hear and the riffs are played in a really weird order on the studio version 
(e.g. sometimes the chorus riff will be played during one of the verses and vice versa) which
makes it a pain to try to play along too.

I'm pretty sure the bassist sometimes plays the Intro/Verse riff without the open
E-note. Sometimes he also plays the 0 3 2 1 2 an octave higher. There doesn't seem to be any
pattern to when he plays either of these variations so I'd just play whatever you feel like.
