IN TWO DIFFERENT TUNINGS

In standard tuning, The A/G# is a real niusance (402220). You could play it with a capo
2 in which the verses would be Em and D, but in standard tuning you can't get the low D
note, so the capo kind of ruins it. FOR THE EASIER VERSION (Drop D tuning with a capo
2), SCROLL DOWN! I have both versions here! --jg

In Standard Tuning:
Intro: (F#m, E)

  F#m
e-------2---!-------2---!-------2---!-------2---!
B--------2--!--------2--!--------2--!--------2--!
G---------2-!---------2-!---------2-!---------2-!
D-----4-----!-----4-----!-----4-----!-----4-----!
A-----------!--4--------!-----------!--4--------!
E--2--------!-----------!--2--------!-----------!

   E
e-------0---!--4----0---!-------0---!--4----0---!
B--------0--!--------0--!--------0--!--------0--!
G---------1-!---------1-!---------1-!---------1-!
D-----2-----!-----2-----!-----2-----!-----2-----!
A-----------!--2--------!-----------!--2--------!
E--0--------!-----------!--0--------!-----------!

F#m
The summer rain is falling
                                            E
Like its never going to stop here it's been ages.
F#m
Puddles form on city corners

Businessmen they leap
            E
Between the edges.

F#m E
Mmmmm... Mmmm mmmm.

  F#m
Umbrellas take up battle spots
                                     E
But nature's fury always proves much stronger.
              F#m
And I've been sitting in my room
                                    E
Wondering if I'm going to last much longer.

    A A/G# F#m E B
And I've been so damn sure
     C#m B
That I've been here before.

I'll give back what I borrowed
                  E
And start today tomorrow.

F#m
I've been watching over you
                      E
Watching while you're sleeping.
F#m
Visions slowly come to me
                     E
Of you when you were sixteen,
F#m
Standing in your neighbour's house
                   E
Like the ones I've shown you.

Sometimes I get the feeling
                 E
That I've always known you.

Let's start today tomorrow.

===============================
AND NOW FOR THE DROP-D VERSION:

This version is easier but requires different tuning.
Tune your low E string down two notes to D, and put a capo on the 2nd fret. All chords
relative to the capo.

Chords in Drop D:
Em: 222000
D: 000232
G: 555433 or 55543X
G/F#: 455433 or 45543X
A: X02220 (same as standard tuning)
Bm: X24432 (same as standard tuning)

The chords below also sound okay without the Drop D tuning, but you won't get the low D
note and will have to adjust the picking pattern to use the higher D (open 4th string)
Still use a capo on 2 though.

Intro: (Em, D)
