Guitars tuned down a half step so Eb, Bb, Gb, Db, Ab, eb, No capo.

There seems to be a rhythm part over the chorus that's got a reggae feel, upstroke on
every offbeat.

Intro
G C G D
G C G D G

G
A man was bothering me today and I
C
wanted to tell him to go away
G D
But I stood and listened to him anyway, okay.
G
He said he didn't want to shoot that man
C
And it was his thing and I wouldn't understand
G D G
And he had done all that he can, okay.

Break (Repeat Intro chords)

G
I guess his body was as good as mine
C
And just like me he was wasting time
G D
Turning over every stone to see what he could find, okay.
G
He was filling his tank and he asked for money
C
I lied and said I didn't have any
G D G
Then my conscious took over and I gave him a hand full of change.

C G
Don't do a thing. Don't do a thing.
D G
Stay right there.
C G
You'll lie there. You'll lie there
D C G
You don't seem to care

Break (repeat intro chords)

G
I know its hard to survive in the city
C
When the beautiful days don't look so pretty
G D
And you don't have windows to keep the night away, okay.
G
He was dirty and stinky and just a bit crude
C
But I didn't say that because that's kind of rude
G D G
And he didn't care what I had to say in the first place, okay.

Break (repeat intro chords)

G C
I wanted to say you're a big disgrace to the world, yourself, and the human race
G D
And reach back and pop him one good time in the face, okay.
G
No its not okay and I didn't do that
      C G D
But I gave him a smile and tipped my hat and told him to have a very nice
               G
rest of the day

C G
Don't do a thing. Don't do a thing.
D G
Stay right there.
C G
You'll lie there. You'll lie there
D C G
You don't seem to care

Break for solos (intro chords)

G
Guess he bought some booze or shit
    C G
And sure that bothers me a little bit but it's his life and I can't tell him
              D
how to live it
      G C
As he turned and started to go his way I tried to think of something wise to
    (Stop playing for a pause)
say like...

Just on the bass notes leading up to the C play A,Bb,B,C, listen to the song for it.

C G
Don't do a thing. Don't do a thing.
D G
Stay right there.
C G
You'll lie there. You'll lie there
D C G
You don't seem to care
C G
You'll die there, you'll die there
D C G
You don't seem to care
