dop all the Gs out of the verse and its perfect. at least for me.
I think that D7 is a Dm... it sounds better.
I think that D7 should be a Dm7 sounds better still, and also the G7 as a G7/B.
I think the chords with the descending bass notes in the verse should be:
Am - Am/G - F - Dm7 - C - Am7 - G - G/B
