Artist: The Zombies
Song: Smokey day
Tabbed by:DJ

Tuning:Standard

Another great track from The Zombies.
A 'lost' gem, that I think would have fitted in well
on their classic 'Odessey & oracle' album.
(a demo version is available on the 'Zombie heaven' CD box set)

A later orchestrated version was also recorded by Colin Blunstone
on his debut solo album 'One year', but I like The Zombies version better.

This transcription is intended to be played fingerstyle,
as there are partial chords in the break.

The chords in the break are quite unusual in popular music of the 60's.
I'm self taught, the chords are my best guess in attempting to name them,
and the shapes are the simplest I could achieve to give some sense
of the original piece.
Any corrections by the more musically literate are appreciated.

My intention for the two bar sequence
Am - Am6 - Bm6/A - Am
was that the first Am is a first inversion shape, and the last Am is a second inversion shape, and should have been shown as Am(type 2)in every case.
For some reason when the site formats some tabs, little details sometimes get missed off.

UG have now fixed their problem with displaying certain slash chords, so this tab now appears as it was when I sent it them.
