Cm: x 3 4 4 5 3
G : 3 4 4 5 3 3
G*: x x 5 4 6 3

Intro: (each chord is only strummed once)
Cm
Back in the summer of '91
   G
An angel with a lizard's tongue
    Cm G G*
Was screming for a holy broken nose
Cm
Linked to every class of men
G
Sprung out from the sparkling sins
Cm G
Leaning on the cold electric stove

Chorus 1:
             Cm G Cm
On a country road I swerved to the side
                  G Cm
Trying to avoid a country bumpkin
                      G Cm
Everyone's in line to meet with the man
                           G Cm
Who blatantly inspired his generation

Bridge 1:
                    Fm
When they shake his hand and their fingers explode
                  G
Breaking both our necks by the tips of our toes
                  Fm Cm
Then they turn to me, cause you died I suppose
                    G
But I can't seem to glance fast enough to be sure

Chorus 2:
               Cm G Cm
Back to summer days, cold hands on the beach
                      G Cm
Memories of thrills designed to please you
                         G Cm
Down the fragrant path I strayed towards the bath
                    G Cm
Suddenly I lived to learn to feed you

Bridge 2:
               Fm
Down on bended knee, where I've been for a while
               G
Set the record straight in the old fashioned style
               Fm Cm
Never took too much, though I should have made more
                 G
You are still my friend, though you were not before

Instrumental
End on Cm

I can't figure out the fingerpicking yet. Here are just some guesses:

Riff 1:
     G
e|----3---3---3---3------------|
B|-----------------------------|
G|-----------------------------|
D|--5---3----------------------|
A|----------6---4--------------|
E|-----------------------------|

Riff 2:
     Cm
e|----3------------------------|
B|--------6---4---3------------|
G|-----------------------------|
D|------5---5---5---5----------|
A|-----------------------------|
E|-----------------------------|

nice tab, but:

for that riff 1, try this:

e|---3---3---3---3---
B|-------------------
G|-0-----------------
D|-----3---1---0-----

but i think it's actually played with a capo on 3rd fret:

e|----0---0---0---0--
B|-/5---3---1---0----
G|-------------------

then the other chords would be:

Am x02210 instead of Cm
E 022100 " " G
Dm xx0231 " " Fm
E7 022130 " " G* (aka G7)

and the chords for the instrumental ending are: Cm G G* riff1 x2 + Cm
or with capo 3: Am E E7 riff1 x2 +Am

thanks for your tab.
