Gorgeous song. I worked out the chords a few minutes ago and thought someone else
might benefit from them somewhere down the line.

Broken Open
Written by Greg Wells, Adam Lambert, and Evan Bogart.
Produced by Greg Wells.
From Adam Lambert's album 'For Your Entertainment'

Intro: E..... (continuous)

E-------D------A----------E
Broken pieces, break into me
E----D---------A--------------E
So imperfectly what you should be

---------------------D
I don't want you to go
------------A-----------------------E
Don't wanna see you back out in the cold
---------------------------------------D
Air you're breathing out fades you to grey
----------A-----E
Don't run away, find me

G#m---------A----------------------E-------------------B
I know the battles of chasing the shadows of who you wanna be
G#m---------A------------------E
It doesn't matter, go on and shatter
------------B----E
I'm all you need

--------D-------A---------E
Broken pieces, break into me
------D---------A---------E
So imperfectly what you should be
G--------------A--------------------------E------------G#m
Lay here, it's safe here, I'll let you be broken open
G-------------A----------------------E
Hide here, confide here so we can be broken open

--------------------D
Let's enlighten the night
-------------A----------------E
We can fall away, slip out of sight
---------------------E
When you drop your guard
----------D------------A--------E-------
Melt into time, so intertwined, quiet

G#m---------A----------------------C#m-------------------B
I know the battles of chasing the shadows of who you wanna be
G#m---------A------------------C#m
It doesn't matter, go on and shatter
------------B----E
I'm all you need

--------D-------A---------E
Broken pieces, break into me
------D---------A---------E
So imperfectly what you should be
G--------------A--------------------------E------------G#m
Lay here, it's safe here, I'll let you be broken open
G-------------A----------------------E-------------------
Hide here, confide here so we can be broken open

Instrumental interlude... eventually there's a key change:

F#--------E-------B---------F#
Broken pieces, break into me
------E---------B---------F#
So imperfectly what you should be
A--------------B--------------------------F#------------A#m
Lay here, it's safe here, I'll let you be broken open
A-------------B----------------------F#
Hide here, confide here so we can be broken open

Outro: Repeat the last two lines without little or no accompaniment.

You kinda just have to work out a nice picking pattern for yourself; whatever
works best! I play something like this:

E

--------0-----------------|
----0------0---0----------|
--1---1------1------------|
--------------------------|
--------------------------|
0-------------------------|

I transition to the next chord on the last note, generally.

Well, that's it!

Good luck and happy playing!

I think this sounds great! I have haven't tried the whole thing with the picking pattern but the chords sound very true to the song.
