[Intro]

Am C Em Dsus2
Am C Em Dsus2 Am

[Verse 1]

Am C
Down by the river, by the boats
      Em Dsus2
Where everybody goes to be alone
Am C
Where you won't see any rising sun
Em Dsus2 Am
Down to the river we will run

[Verse 2]

Am C
When by the water we drink to the dregs
Em Dsus2
Look at the stones on the river bed
Am C
I can tell from your eyes
Em Dsus2 Am
You've never been by the riverside

[Verse 3]

Am C
Down by the water the riverbed
Em Dsus2
Somebody calls you, somebody says
Am C
Swim with the current and float away
Em Dsus2
Down by the river everyday

[Chorus]

Am Em G Dsus2 Am Em G
Oh my God, I see how everything is torn in the river deep
  Fmaj7 Am Em G Dsus2 F Am
And I don't know why I go the way down by the riverside

[Verse 4]

Am C
When that old river runs past your eyes
   Em Dsus2
To wash off the dirt on the riverside
Am C
Go to the water so very near
    Em Dsus2 Am
The river will be your eyes and ears

[Verse 5]

  Am C
I walk to the borders on my own
Em Dsus2
Fall in the water just like a stone
Am C
Chilled to the marrow in them bones
Em Dsus2...
Why do I go here all alone?

[Chorus]

...Am Em G Dsus2 Am Em G
Oh my God, I see how everything is torn in the river deep
  Fmaj7 Am Em G Dsus2 F Am...
And I don't know why I go the way down by the riverside

[Chorus]

   ...Em G Dsus2 Am Em G
Oh my God, I see how everything is torn in the river deep
  Fmaj7 Am Em G Dsus2 F Am
And I don't know why I go the way down by the riverside

[Outro]

Am C Em G
Oh, oh, I
Am C Em D
Oh, oh, I
Am C Em G
Oh, oh, I
Dsus2 F Am
Down by the riverside

Down by the riverside

love the tab, think its better than the other. only suggestion i'd make is that there should be a G major between the last F and Am of the chorus, sounds more accurate I think! Well Done!!

Thanks. You're right, there's something there between the last F and Am of the chorus, but idk if it's a G major or what. Sounds like the bass note is still F, but it's hard to hear.
