"Never Meant" by American Football off their only? CD
Tabbed by Alec LaLonde (http://www.angelfire.com/ny4/cela)

The rhythms in this tune are much too hard to figure out without intently listening to the song, so good
It sounds hard, but really isn't because it's mostly just simple riffs overlapped with 2-3 guitars. They
have 2 guitarists so parts were probably dubbed on the album. But it needs 3 guitars for the full effect onstage.
If anybody wants to help me on that one backing part, or has any other American Football tabs, email me at
and feel free to post them here.

Intro riff (guitar 1)
e-----------------------0--1/3-|
B-5p3----------0--1/3----------|
G-----3--0-2-------------------|
D------------------------------|

Intro riff (guitar 2)
e--------------0----------|
B----------0-1---1--------| 5x
G-------------------------|
D-------------------------|

Continue several times until guitar 3 comes in at 0:32 with:
e-3p0----3p0----0h1-0-------0---|
B-----1------1--------1---1---1-|
G-------------------------------|
D-------------------------------|

Guitars 3 stops at 1:12, others continue
Guitar 3 enters again at 1:31 with this riff:
e-3p0---------------------|
B-----1h3-----------------|
G-------------------------|
D-------------------------|

Then all guitars switch at 2:14
Guitar 1 plays sweet riff:
e-15p12----12--15p12-12h13-12h13-------|
B-------15-----------------------13p10-|
G--------------------------------------|
D--------------------------------------|

Guitar 2 plays backing part:
e-----0-1p0-------------|
B---1-------------------|
G-2---------------------|
D-----------------------|

Guitar 3 comes in at 2:30 and 2:50 with a funky riff:
e-------------------------|
B-------------------------|
G-----5-4b5b4-------------|
D---5---------------------|
A-3-----------------------|

Then things switch again at 2:58
Guitar 1 leads with:
e-8-8/5-5-5/3-3-3p0---------------|
B-------------------5-5/3-3-3h5p1-|
G---------------------------------|
D---------------------------------|

I'm not sure about the backing part but it might be:
e-------1p0-----1p0-----1p0-----1p0--------1~~~~~-|
B-----1-------1-------1-------1----------1--------|
G---2-------2-------2-------2----------2----------|
D-3----------------------------------3------------|
A----------------------------------3--------------|

Then guitars 1 and 2 go back to the intro riff and
guitar 3 plays the same riff as at 0:32.
