                   B
So let me get this straight
C#m A
Say now you loved me all along
(A) B
What made you hesitate
C#m A
to tell me with words what you really feel?

(Finger Pick)
B C#m
I can see it in your eyes
     A
you mean all of what you say
B C#m A
I remember so long ago, see I felt that same way

(Strum)
B C#m A
Now we both have separate lives and lovers (and lovers)
B C#m
Insignificantly enough
    A - (Strum Once)
we both have significant others

(Strum B x 3 then Strum A)

Only time will tell

(Strum B x 3 then Strum A)

Time will turn and tell

( B x 3 )

E
We are who we were when
B A
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B E
we are who, we are who we were when
(E)
Who knew what we know now
B A
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B C#m
We are who, we are who we were when

(C#m)
But thoughts they change
    B
and times they rearrange
                      A
I don't know who you are anymore
C#m B
Loves come and go and this I know
                  A
I'm not who you recall anymore

B C#m
And I must confess
       A
you're so much more than I remember
B C#m
Can't help but entertain
                 (A x 2) (B x 2) (C# x 2)(B x 2)(E x 3)
the thoughts, thoughts of us together

E
We are who we were when
B A
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B E
we are who, we are who we were when
(E)
Who knew what we know now
B A
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B C#m
We are who, we are who we were when

(At this part, they climb down the neck, and then back up)

(C#m x 3)(B x 3)(A x 3)(B x 7)

(C#m x 16)(B x 16)(A x 16)(Strum A B A few times, let ring, then C#m)

(Softly)
C#m D#m B
So let me get this straight
           C#m
All these years
     A C#m
and you were no where to be found
(C#m) D#m B
And now you want me for your own

But you're a day late
        A - (Let Ring)
and my love, she's still renowned

E
We are who we were when
B A
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B E
we are who, we are who we were when
(E)
Who knew what we know now
B A
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B E
We are who, we are who we were when

E
We are who we were when
B A
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B E
we are who, we are who we were when
(E)
Who knew what we know now
B A
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
C#m B C#m B E
We are who, we are who we were when (Resolve)

hey, great tab, though it's capo 1 with standard tuning, you should post that or you're gonna get bad comments and ratings...
there could be a few places with different chord changes, but it's such a great song that you can mess with and make it your own... thanks for the tab..

To Schnitzerling: Just played it through and it is actually Standard tuning no capo

The only other comment i'd make is what's with the D#m because I don't hear it in the quiet chorus
