About this tab version
No other version explains how to play the (very fast albeit simple) guitar solo, and all other versions have typing mistakes on the chorus tablature, which could confuse learners. Was this info helpful? Yes No

Tuning: EADGBe

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Verse riff:

e|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------------------------------------| (x6)
A|-0---0---0--0--0-7---7---7--7--7-8---8---8--8--8-5---5---5--5--5-|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------|

Chorus riff:

e|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--6--8--10~~~---------8~~~-----6--8--10~~~---------8~~~-----6--8-|
G|--7--9--9~~~~---------9~~~-----7--9--9~~~~---------9~~~-----7--9-|

A|--5--7-(8)~~~---------7~~~-----5--7-(8)~~~---------7~~~-----5--7-|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------|

From Em to Fmaj7 you're supposed to invert your middle and pinky fingers,
swapping strings, but I find it much easier to just play the top three notes
like a jazz chord instead. See what works best to your abilities.

Conclude with:

e|-------------------------------------------------|
B|--6--8--10~~~---------8~~~-----6~~~--------------|
G|--7--9--9~~~~---------9~~~-----7~~~--------------|
D|--7--9--10~~~---------9~~~-----7~~~--------------|

Footnote: this part is actually improvised with an echo effect.
The squiggles mean repeats here.
(Alex Turner used a Danelectro Reel Echo pedal for this)

Solo:

e|-------------------------------------------------|
B|-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-|
G|-------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------| (x3)
A|-------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------|
Tip: every pluck equals 1/4 of a beat, so pluck 4 times for every note of the
opposing line (5-6-5-4)

This is a very complex pattern so pay attention. You'll get the hang of it
if you practice.
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-12-13-12-6--8--10~~~---------8~~~-|

D|----------------------------------------7--9--10~~~---------9~~~-|
A|----------------------------------------5--7-(8)~~~---------7~~~-|
