[Intro]

C

[Verse 1]

C Am
I etched the face of a stopwatch
Am E
On the back of a raindrop
E F
And did a swap for the sand in an hourglass.
C Am
I heard an unhappy ending,
Am E
It sort of sounds like youre leaving,
E F
I heard the piledriver waltz,
F C
It woke me up this mor-ning.

[Interlude]

C

[Chorus]

              (Strumming Change)
N.C. F Dm Am
You look like youve been for breakfast at the heartbreak hotel
Am E F
And sat in the back booth by the,
F Dm Am E
Pamphlets and the litera-ture on how to lose
     F G C Am
Your waitress was miserable and so was your food.
Am F G
If youre gonna try and walk on water make sure you wear your comfortable shoes.

[Interlude]

C (Change of strumming back to verse)

[Verse 2]

(same as verse 1)

Mysteries flashing amber go green when you answer,
But the red on the rest of the questionnaire never changes.
I heard the news that you were planning,
To shoot me out of a cannon.
I heard the piledriver waltz,
It woke me up this morning.

Well this is just copied from the Submarine EP tab... You could have at least checked it first, the one on the album's in a completely different key. ;)

This is right if you put the capo on the 4th fret.
