Intro

G Bm (x2)

Verse:

G Bm
I waded through the darkest fields you'd imagine
G Bm
Your pretty face sketched on the barrel of my gun
      C G2 D
And I know you'll be the first to welcome me
C G2 D
When I climb into eternity
C G
Oh, oh

G Bm
The forest always kept us warm
G Bm
But it doesn't feel like home anymore
      C G2 D
And I know there's bigger mountains where you are
C G2 D
And a better climate for my heart
C G
Oh, oh

Chorus:
          C
I've been racing the clock

And I've run out of steam
     Em D
I am ready for my final symphony
      C
Oh my body is weak

But my soul is still strong
     Em D
I am ready to rest in your arms

Verse:
G Bm
Though many battles I have won
G Bm
I lost too many friends I could count on
      C G2 D
And I know they'll be the first to welcome me
C G2 D
When I parachute into eternity
C G
Oh, oh

Chorus:

          C
I've been racing the clock

And I've run out of steam
     Em D
I am ready for my final symphony
      C
Oh my body is weak

But my soul is still strong
     Em D
I am ready to rest in your arms

Bridge: (x2)

        G3 C2
And the rain beat down on the rooftops
                 Em
But there was no sound
             D
There was no sound
           G3 C2
And all my friends and family carried me
                Em
They carried me home
                D
They carried me home

Chorus:

              C
Oh, I've been racing the clock

And I've run out of steam
     Em D
I am ready for my final symphony
      C
Oh my body is weak

But my soul is still strong
     Em D
I am ready to rest in your arms

          C
I've been racing the clock

And I've run out of steam
     Em D
I am ready for my final symphony
      C
Oh my body is weak

But my soul is still strong
     Em D
I am ready to rest in your arms

C G
Oh, oh

Sounds great! Just a couple minor corrections.

The G2 chord...it sounds like "x 10 9 0 8 10" instead of the last string not being played. Try it out.

And the last chorus it seems as if he goes from C to G to D instead of C to Em to D. If you watch the video, you'll see it...I think. Anyway, give it a try and see what you think. Otherwise, fantastic tab. Thanks for putting it up!

Great tab however looking at the video and playing I would suggest a few minor changes:

The G chord should be played 320003 instead of 32003x or 32000x

C chord should be played x32013 for the first few verses and then open during last verse (i.e. x32010)

D chord again should be played x54033 for the first few verses and open during last verse (i.e. x54030)

Agree with chriscim re the G2 chord, should definately be x1090810.

Also usure if the Bm is correct chord but can't work out what it should be.

Great tab nonetheless...thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions - got to admit when I did this tab I was in the habit of muting the 1st string all the time cos it was a quick replacement jobbie and was a different gauge to the rest and sounded awful!

Having since re-strung it does sound good to fret that 1st string on the chords you guys mentioned - I especially like that x54033 for the D chord, nice one Alan.

Think you're right about the last chorus chriscim, the first Em is a G - good spot, think I got lazy by the end and just assumed it was the same!
