This is one of the saddest Ayreon songs ever... though this is very nice to play!
especially if you got a vocalist or you are a vocalist... =)
2 versions: Orginal and a radio version performed by Arjen Lucassen and Marjan Welman.

Day six: Childhood (original)

Intro: Em C Am C Em D C Em

Verse:
      Em C Am
[Agony] You're alone in your bedroom
 C Em D C Em
Hiding from the world, staring at the ceiling
    Em C D
[Me] Mother said 'he'll be home soon'
 C Em D C Em
But he never was, and I knew how she was feeling

Chorus:
     F#m D F#m D
[Fear] You always let him down; 'you'd never be like him'
 F#m Bm D A
He'd always break you, never let you win
 F#m D F#m D
No matter what you said, he'd always disagree
 F#m Bm D
You swore that one day you would be
         A Em C Am C Em D C Em
better than him...one day you'd win

Verse:
       Em C Am
[Agony] You're hiding out in the cellar
 C Em D C Em
Aching and ashamed, covering up the bruises
    Em C D
[Me] And then he would tell her
        C Em D C Em
How I tripped and hurt my head, how I'd always be a loser

Chorus:

     F#m D F#m D
[Fear] You always let him down; 'you'd never be like him'
 F#m Bm D A
He'd always break you, never let you win
 F#m D F#m D
No matter what you said, he'd always disagree
 F#m Bm D
You swore that one day you would be
         A Em
better than him...one day you'd win

(Instrumental section)

Verse:
       Em C Am
[Agony] You're all alone in your bedroom
 C Em D C Em
How could you learn to care, when nobody cares for you
    Em C D
[Me] Mother said he'd be home soon
 C Em D C Em
But he never came, as for me...he didn't have to...

In the original key:
the chords for the intro/verse should be Em, C, Am, C; Em, D, C, Em.
the chorus should be F#m, Bm, F#m, D; F#m, Bm, D, A.

In the Radio Edit key that would make it:
intro/verse Am, F, Dm, F; Am, G, F, Am.
chorus Bm, Em, Bm, G; Bm, Em, G, D.

That sounds at least closer to me.

Too bad you don't have the instrumental section, but it's still good :)
