By Belle & Sebastian

C (bass: B)
On a beech tree rudely carved

Am G
NC was here

           F
Why did she do it?

        C G
Was she scared or sad?

C (B)
On a beech tree rudely carved

 Am G
NC loved me

           F
Why did she do it?

        C G
Was she bored, or pushed

             C (B)
Do something pretty while you can

      Am G
Don't be a fool

            F C G
Reading the Gospel to yourself is fine
