artist: Ben Folds Five
song: Evaporated
album: Whatever and Ever, Amen

(the whole song has a fourth running through
it in the right hand. I think Ben might
be using two pianos on this song. Instead of
an F chord it's really C and F at middle C.)

F F/A F/Bb
F F/A F/Bb

F F/A
  What I've kept with me
    F/Bb /C
And what I've thrown away
    F F/A
And where the hell I've ended up
On this glary, random day
/B /C F/D F/G
Were the things I really cared about
     F/C F
just left along the way
For being too pent up and proud

Woke up way too late
feeling hungover and old
And the sun was shining bright
and I walked barefoot down the road
Started thinking 'bout my old man
It seems that all men
want to get into a car and go
F/A F/Bb
any - where

       Bbadd2 Cadd4 Cadd4/E F
Here I stand sad and free
        Bbadd2 Cadd4 Cadd4/D /D /D#
I can't cry I can't see
Cadd4/E Bbadd2 Cadd4
        What I've done
   Cadd4/D Dm7/A F/Bb F/A
Oh God what have I done?

F F/A F/Bb (riff 1)
F F/A F/Bb (riff 2)

Don't you know I'm numb, man
No I can't feel a thing at all
'Cause it's all smiles and business these days
And I'm indifferent to the loss
I think that there's a soul somewhere
that's leading me around
I wonder if she knows which way is down

Here I stand, sad and free
I can't cry, and I can't see
What I've done, oh God what have I done?

Abdim7 C Csus4 C

Bb C F Bb
I poured my heart out
C Bb/F
I poured my heart out
   F F/A F/Bb
It evaporated see?

F F/A F/Bb

Blind man on a canyon's edge of a panoramic scene
Maybe I'm a kite that's flying high and random
Dangling on a string, or slumped over in a vacant room
Head on a stranger's knee
I'm sure back home they think I've lost my mind

Here I stand - sad and free
I can't cry and I can't see
What I've done
Oh God what have I done?

F F/A F/Bb (riff 1)
F F/A F/Bb (riff 2)
F F/A F/Bb (riff 1)
F F/A (riff 3) F/Bb

riff 1: (octave + 3rd above middle C)
riff 2: (sixth above middle C)
riff 3: (fifth above middle C)

Since F/A, F/C and F/G are all the same on the ukulele, should I play it a different way? Like add the third fret to the A string for one of the chords and do other F chord variations for all the slashed chords or something? I figured you must have left those slashed chords in there for a reason... unless you just copied the guitar tab and thought it would be the same on a uke... I'd love to play this song, but it sounds weird not have that chord progression. Please help! Thanks!
