The song is is Open C tuning, but the highest 2 strings are tuned down further.
The 2nd and 3rd strings are the SAME G note, and the 1st string is tuned down to C 
(which would be the the same as the 5th fret of the 2nd or 3rd string).

Tuning: CGCGGC
Capo 5th fret, leave the 6E (lowest) string uncapped

any tips on how to play a gap as huge as the 4th fret to the 9th?

Edit: nvm i realized that it's not relative to the capo xD
