Capo 2

Intro: C Em Am G F

C Em Am G
Howard drives a minivan with the cruise ships from Ft. Lauderdale
       F G C
And it's been that way since 1994
      C Em Am G
Does his business on a flip phone with the most obnoxious ringtone
         F G C
I didn't ask but I can tell he's from New York
              Am G F C
And he spoke proudly of his daughter and that this fall she'd be in college
                 Dm G Am
And that he always wished he'd gotten his degree
          Am G F C
You can tell he came from nothing, built a future out of hustling
             Dm G C
And somehow I'm the one you people pay to see

(Chorus)

F C
Oh isn't that just the way it goes
                  G Am
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
F C
Oh how am I the only one who knows
                Dm G C ( C Em Am G F )
I'm half the man of the men who drive me places

C Em Am G
Danny showed up early fifteen minutes till five thirty
         F G C
Making sure that I'd be on my morning flight
            C Em Am G
He said he'd love to fix computers, but that he can't until he's fluent
        F G C
So he spends his driving money taking class at night
            Am G F C
He wore a neatly ironed dress shirt and he helps his kids with homework
          Dm G Am
And deep inside I couldn't help but ask myself
     Am G F C
Why that at night I'm up on stage, everybody knows my name
          Dm G C
While Danny's early picking up somebody else

(Chorus)

F C
Oh isn't that just the way it goes
     G Am
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
F C
Oh how am I the only one who knows
   Dm G C ( C Em Am G F )
I'm half the man of the men that drive me places

(Bridge)

              Am G F C
And now everything's not given, I work hard to make my living
           Dm G Am
But I'll give credit where I think credits due
        Am G
Maybe you got dealt a good hand
          F C
Maybe you play it the best that you can
             Dm Am Dm Am
But I don't know how far you'd walk without those cards
      G
In Howard and Danny's working shoes

 F C
But that's just the way it goes
                G Am
You're dealt a good hand and you get celebrated
F C
Oh how am I the only one who knows
      Dm G C
I'm half the man of the men that drive me places

(Outro) C Em Am G F - C Em Am G F C* (optional)

Great tab. Don't listen to the other guy, he's just mad his tab isn't as popular.(notice I didn't say he was necessarily wrong)I really like you're tab because I can hear how it fits with the song. Good work! I'm trying to figure out how to finger pick the song off these chords right now so hopefully I can throw up a tab based off your chords. Three small things I heard that you might look into: 1) The walk down chord progression used in the intro and throughout finishes with a brief C. Thats where those 3(I think) random notes you hear come from, the top 3 strings specifically. 2) At the end of the bridge, I think the chord progression is a C to Dm then resolves on the G. 3) The end sounds great with you're optional C but I would play a G after the F and then your optional(which should be incorporated for the best resolution) C. Hope this helps!

Not sure why he says it's wrong... It sounds great with the piano, even if you're just playing these as block chords. Great job! You saved me a lot of time! Now to figure out Ben's improvisations from the recording... :)
