Listen
The whole song, is based on A (bare on 2th fret) and D (barre) chords. Then to do the magic, you just need to
play around with your pinky finger, hammmering at the G string on the 4th fret.

Observations:

To change from A to D chord, he will make an slide till the 5th fret.
At the 5th fret, often he puts his pinky finger at the E string on the 7th fret.

A different variation on the A chord you can do is: hammer on the G string at the 4th fret, and then hammer
on the D string at the 4th fret, this will require you to feel the song. :)

[Intro]
A

[Verse]
A
It’s a lonely walk
With a road like that my girl
           D A
You ain’t seen no love since that man walked out your door

A
Harder, still
You think you can’t tell no one
        D
You God died back in ‘94
                                    A
With a needle, with a needle and a gun

A
Caught your leg on a branch from a willow tree
          D
You got blood in your eyes, girl
Thought I heard you screaming—

A
That man took every part of me
                            D
I lost my will along the highway—marker 54
She said “oh, they don’t make men like that no more”
                  A
Honey, they sure don’t

A
Set yourself on fire so high so high
         D
I could feel your heart was speeding
                                A
Did you love me or was it the drugs?
         D
I could feel your heart was speeding
                                A
Did you love me or was it the drugs?

[Outro]
And the life we’re living now will surely bury me
