VERSE
           Em7 Asus4 D Dsus2 D
Well we're living here in Allen-town
            Am7 D7sus4 G Gsus2 G
And they're closing all the factories down
       Em7 A Bm
Out in Bethlehem they're killing time
F#m/A G6 D/F# Asus4 A
Filling out forms, standing in line

VERSE
        Em7 Asus4 D Dsus2 D
Well our fathers fought the Second World War
            Am7 D7sus4 G Gsus2 G
Spent their weekends on the Jersey shore
        Em7 A Bm
Met our mothers in the USO
F#m/A G6 D/F# Asus A
Asked them to dance, danced with them slow
          Em7 Asus4 D Dsus4 Dsus2 D (break)
And we're living here in Allentown

BRIDGE
        F/A G/B C G/C C
But the restlessness was handed down
         Am D7sus4 D7 | Em G/B | C D |
And it's getting very hard to stay

| C(add9) Em D | G Gsus4 G |

VERSE
           Em7 Asus4 D Dsus2 D
Well we're waiting here in Allen-town
        Am7 D7sus4 G Gsus2 G
For the Pennsylvania we never found
        Em7 A Bm
For the promises our teachers gave
F#m/A G6 D/F# Asus4 A
If we worked hard, if we behaved

VERSE
       Em7 Asus4 D Dsus2 D
So the graduations hang on the wall
         Am7 D7sus4 G Gsus2 G
But they never really helped us at all
        Em7 A Bm
No they never taught us what was real
F#m/A G6 D/F# Asus4 A
Iron and coke, chromium steel
          Em7 Asus4 D Dsus2 D (break)
And we're waiting here in Allentown

BRIDGE
            F/A G/B C G/C C

        Am D7sus4 D7 | Em G/B | C D |
And the union people crawled a-way

To get at least as far as their old man got
F G/F F
But something happened on the way to that place

I'm the submitter of this tab. I was surprised about the rating and asked the user who rated it why he thought the tab was not so good so I could update and improve it. I never got an answer.
The tab is OK, as far as I can tell. If you think so too, please rate. Thanks!
