the main  parts of this song go to the bassline, which create the main vibe
but the guitar plays nice little fills and riffs which complete the song...

I guess it's not a standart tuning. Looks like open D, because Peter makes full barre on 3rd and 5th frets instead of standart tuning barre chords and makes open strum on intro.
