Blackberry Smoke - The Whippoorwill

   Am D Am D

  Am D
Going through life the righteous way
    Am D
The only way so the preacher would say
    Am D
You put me on the Jericho Road
  Am D
Barefoot and smilin standing over here by the piano

Chorus:
        C B Am G F
Well I dreamed I heard that Whippoorwill sing
      C B Am G F
She sang my song and she called me my name
E
And I hung my head in shame.

Am D Am D

      Am D
You sewed my years together like a patchwork quilt
      Am D
Your bougenvie is bloomed yea it never will
     Am D
The lessons I remember and some that I forgot
      Am D
are precious and pure now like one honeysuckle drop

Chorus:
         C B Am G F
Well I dreamed I heard that Whippoorwill sing
         C B Am G F
Yes she sang my song and called me by name
E
And I hung my head in shame

Am D Am D Am D

Lord above..

Bridge:
   F D
I sing my song with the Whippoorwill in a sweet high harmony
          Bb G G
Though I know just What went with her, she's always here with me Always here with me

Chorus:
         C B Am G F
Well I dreamed I heard that Whippoorwill sing

Yes she sang my song and called me by name
E
And I hung my head in shame

Am D Am D Am D

Starting all over again, Yes I'm starting all over again

You got the just of it but - just a few specific things, the Am is a Am7 the D a D7 and the E a E7, there is a B note on the A string before you strum the C chord also after the F in the chorus there is a G note before you go back to the C, the chords for the pre-solo are Am7 C7 F D7/f# G then pick out first fret D string open G open B, second fret D open G open B, third fret D open G open B (D string notes are Eb E F picked out with the open G and B strings)On the last note (F) he slides up to it and with his third finger on the third fret of the B string picking those two strings in sequence. Then to the solo chords which are the verse chords Am7 D7 and the chorus chords C roll down with the B note to the Am7 G F then at the end E7 before the Bridge Chords which are F Dm Bb G short C before the last G.
Hope this all helps, love the song.

Pretty sure the chorus is C G Am G F, the B sounds odd!
