Bombay Bicycle Club, "Leaving Blues"
Written by Bombay Bicycle Club
Transcribed by Dan Henwood

This is a beautiful song with some slightly tricky finger picking but once you get the hang of it
you'll be addicted like me. With the picking your thumb should be covering the low E, A and D
strings with your index finger on the G, your middle on the B (and E if it feels more comfortable)
and I use my third finger for the high E.

Capo 4th fret in standard tuning

Intro/Main Riff:

e-----------------0-------------------------------------------|
b-----3--------3-----3--1--0--------------------0-------------|
g----------0------------------0----5--------5-------5-------0-|
d-----0------0--------0-----0------3---3---3------------3-----|
a-------------------------------5---------5-------5-------5---|
e---3----3--------3------3----------5----------5-----5--------|

"I'm sure you know that I'm leaving"

e-----------------0----------------------|
b------1--------------1---------1--------|
g-----------2--------------2----------2--|
d------3-------3--------3----------3-----|
a----------------------------------------|
e---1-----1---------1----------1---------|

e-----------------0-----------------------|
b------1--------------1-----------1-------|
g------------0--------------0-----------0-|
d------2--------2--------2-----------2----|
a---3-----3---------3----------3----------|
e-----------------------------------------|

Then back into main riff

Bridge:

"Curse god..."

e-----0------------------------------------------0-------------------|
b---------------1-----3---------0-----0-------------------0----------|
g----------2---------------0----------------2--------2---------2-----|
d-----2-------2-------0-------0-------3--------3--------3----------3-|
a--0-----0-----------------------------------------------------------|
e------------------3-----3---------1------1-------1----------1-------|

"Miss you...."

e-----0-------------------------------2----------3--------3----------|
b---------------1-----3---------0----------3---------3----------3----|
g----------2---------------0----------2-------2---------2----------2-|
d-----2-------2-------0-------0----0-----0--------0----------0-------|
a--0-----0-----------------------------------------------------------|
e------------------3-----3-------------------------------------------|

"Not once did I think that...."

e-----0------------------------------------------0-------------------|
b---------------1-----3---------0-----0-------------------0----------|
g----------2---------------0----------------2--------2---------2-----|
d-----2-------2-------0-------0-------3--------3--------3----------3-|
a--0-----0-----------------------------------------------------------|
e------------------3-----3---------1------1-------1----------1-------|

"Love would stay until I come ...."

e-----------------0--------------------|
b------1---------------------1---------|
g------------0----------0--------0-----|
d------2--------2----------2--------2--|
a--3-------3---------3---------3-------|
e--------------------------------------|

"back."

(Main riff)

e-----------------0-------------------------------------------|
b-----3--------3-----3--1--0--------------------0-------------|
g----------0------------------0----5--------5-------5-------0-|
d-----0------0--------0-----0------3---3---3------------3-----|
a-------------------------------5---------5-------5-------5---|
e---3----3--------3------3----------5----------5-----5--------|

Underneath is a little change he does after the chorus on the second repeat, a
little difference on
the G chord listen out for it, its a little triplet he does.

e------------------0-------------------------------------------|
b-----3---------3-----3--1--0--------------------0-------------|
g----------0---0---------------0----5--------5-------5-------0-|
d-----0-------0--------0-----0------3---3---3------------3-----|
a--------------------------------5---------5-------5-------5---|
e---3----3---------3------3----------5----------5-----5--------|

Hope this is helpful I know it's not accurate 100% but it's close enough to sound
good. Its my first
tab so its bound to be a bit dodgy. I've got tutorials on youtube if you want to
check them out My
user name is Danhenwood. Enjoy!

Really good tab. I wish everyone on this site shared the same ear - or at least recognise that they don't!
