FLOOD 3 (Live at Koenji) - BORIS
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Tabbed by: Maciek

Live version of flood 3 from here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvWmd2g3wKk

Tuning is half-step down.
You have to tune properly if you want to use this tab and make it sound
in the same key as on the video (open string drone)!

FIRST PART
main theme of the first part.
it goes on and on in the intro, then under the vocals

repeat Change with a beautiful drone, keep it ringing
e|-----2---------|------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------0--|-----0------0------0-----0----------------------------------|
G|--2-2-2---4----|---2--2---2--2---2--2--2--2---------------------------------|
D|---4-----6-6-6-|--2-2----0-0----4-4---4-4-----------------------------------|
A|-5------4------|-0------2------2-----2--------------------------------------|
E|---------------|------------------------------------------------------------|

These two little riffs/chords progressions come alternately two times.
Then repeat the first riff again (now with the bass)

First part outro (drone again):
slow down here, first part is over
e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----0------0------0------0------0------0----------------------------------|
G|---4------6------4------6------7------7------------------------------------|
D|--6-6-6--8-8-8--6-6-6--8-8-8--9-9-9--9-9-9--6------------------------------|
A|-4------6------4------6------7------8-------4------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
T ... on this tonic switch on the fuzz and blast it tutti

SECOND PART
tempo change (or not, figure it out)
Remember to play it loosely, the sound is all waves, sail on them

this tonic can be a powerchord, a major third or a whole major chord,
play around with it (your bassist too)
             ^
e|-----------|-------------------------|--last time before the vocals enter:--------------|
B|-----------|-------------------------|--(7 fret on E instead of 9 fret on D is for the bass, the rest
G|-----------|-------------------------|--of the time it plays single notes under the guitar)
D|-8--9--11--|----things like:---------|---8-------9---9-9~-------------9-----------------|
A|-6--7--9---9--------------67779976---|---6-------7----9---------------6-----------------|
E|-----------7--------------777777777--|----------------(7)-------------7-----------------|
   FORTE FORTISSIMO FUZZISSIMO tutti (blast)

the main riff repeats with the vocals above, finish this part simply with the tonic.

OUTRO
Repeat this thing and tell your drummer to learn his part.
The drums keep playing a rhythm in a different meter, they disunite from the guitars,
then eventually join them.

e|-------------------r|-when the drums come back-|
B|-------------------e|-to the meter:------------|
G|-------------------p|----- --------------------| After this meeting, bring major scales solos over the riff
D|-896-7-4-----------e|-896- --4-----------------| if you wish. Improvise, the band is absolutely free on
A|-674-5-2-----------a|-674- --2-----------------| the tonic (dumm),just keep the breaks (du-du-duu-duu-dumm).
E|-------------------t|--------------------------|
         T T

That's it, play this part loud for at least two hours, have fun, then finish the song quietly,
the same way it started, solo clean guitar, the flood is over....

SORRY FOR MAKING IT LOOK DIFFICULT. IT'S EASY, JUST LEARN IT BY EAR!!!

Oh and I got the lyrics thanks to some guy from YT (711Rod)

Sabaka reta damaru tsuchi
Omoki kumo no suki ma kara
Sashi komu hikari tsutsumikomu

Tada nagare shizumi yuku
U ne ito yumi nai no nagisa ni sosogi
Afureru hikari tsutsumikomu

Kōdaina mizu no hiro gai o niji ga watai
Sono kare man kara atarashī sora o hajimeru

this tab sounds pretty accurate and good, although both times i've seen boris play flood 3 they play it in A# standard and they play the last part one octave lower

pretty good nonetheless
