I noticed a few mistakes in other versions of this song. This is the correct
chord chart for the album version of the song.

[Intro] A

[Verse 1]
     A E
Hang on, just hang on for a minute
     F#m D
I've got something to say
        A E
I'm not asking you to move on or forget it
    F#m D
But these are better days
      A E
To be wrong all along and admit it
   F#m D
Is not amazing grace
          A E C#7
But to be loved like a song you remember
F#m D
Even when you've changed

[Chorus]
E A
Tell me
      D A
Did I go on a tangent?
      D A
Did I lie through my teeth?
      F#m C#m E
Did I cause you to stumble on your feet?
            D A
Did I bring shame on my family?
       F#m E
Did it show when I was weak?
             D A
Whatever you see, that wasn't me
            E D D/C# D/B A
That wasn't me, that wasn't me

[Verse 2]
            A E
When you're lost you will toss every lucky
F#m D
Coin you'll ever trust
             A E
And you’ll hide from your god like he ever
F#m D
Turns his back on us
            A E
Then you’ll fall all the way to the bottom
    F#m D
And land on your own knife
           A E C#7
But you'll learn who you are even if it
F#m D
Doesn't take your life

[Chorus]
E A
Tell me
      D A
Did I go on a tangent?
      D A
Did I lie through my teeth?
      F#m C#m E
Did I cause you to stumble on your feet?
            D A
Did I bring shame on my family?
       F#m E
Did it show when I was weak?
             D A
Whatever you see, that wasn't me
            E D D/C# D/B A
That wasn't me, that wasn't me

[Bridge]
      E C#7 F#m E D
But I want you to know that you'll never be alone
  E A
I wanna believe

[Chorus]
     D A
Do I make myself a blessing
   D A
To everyone I meet
         F#m C#m
When you fall I will get you
        E
On your feet
           D A
Do I spend time with my family?
       F#m E
Did it show when I was weak?
                     D A
When that's what you see, that will be me
             E F#m D
That will be me, that will be me
             A
That will be me

If you transpose down 2, it's much easier!

Yes, good idea to transpose down 2. I wrote it in the original key but the chords are easier if you transpose.

here's a little cheat - instead of playing the C#7, play the 1st and 2nd fret of the A string, then go to F#m.

Brandi does it right here right at 0:44. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wDC4sWX0FU
