[Intro]
Em C G D/F# 4x

[Verse]
       Em C G D/F#
I was trying to find a way home,
    Em C D/F#
but all i heard was a drone.
 Em C G D/F#
Bouncin' off a satellite
             Em C D/F#
crushing the last long American night.

[Chorus 1]
Em C G D/F#
This is radio nowhere.
Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?
G C Em D/F#
This is radio nowhere.
G C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?

[Verse]
      Em C G D/F#
I was sitting around a dirt dial
       Em C D/F#
Just another lost number in a file.
 Em C G D/F#
Been in some kinda dark cove
      Em C D/F#
Just searching for a world with some soul.

[Chorus 1](Repeat last line)

[Bridge]
Em C G D/F#
I just wanna hear some rhythm. 4 x
           Em C G D/F#
I want a thousand guitars.
        Em C G D/F#
I want pounding drums.
          Em C G D/F# D/F#
I want a million different voices speaking in tongues.

[Chorus 2]
 Em C G D/F#
This is radio nowhere.
 Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?
Em C G D/F#
This is radio nowhere.
Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?
Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?

[Sax solo]
A F C G 4 x
Em C G D/F# 2 x

[Verse]
       Em C G D/F#
I was driving through the misty rain
       Em C D/F#
Yeah, searching for a mystery train.
 Em C G D/F#
Bopping through the wild blue,
 Em C D/F#
Trying to make connection with you.

[Chorus 2]
 Em C G D/F#
This is radio nowhere.
 Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?
Em C G D/F#
This is radio nowhere.
Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?
Em C G D/F#
Is there anybody alive out there?

[Outro](2 stemmen)
Em C G D/F#
I just want to hear some rhythm
I just want to hear you
(Fade out...)

Agree to capo 2nd fret. But I'd change the C on "American" to an Am in the last line of verse 1 and in the same place on the other verses. For the second verse I thought I heard:

I was starin' at a dead dial
Just another lost numerical file
Glancin' down a dark hole
Just searchin' for a world with some soul

On the bridge I heard:

I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear some livin'
I just wanna hear some rhythm
(but "rhythm" is then faded slightly and oversung on the second syllable by the beginning of verse 3:

I want a thousand guitars.....etc.

On the 4th verse I couldn't tell if it was "to the wild moon" or "through the wild blue," but I'm sure the next line is "Tryin' to make a connection with you."

And the coda, which is the repeat of the bridge, goes "hear some" for the first two lines ("rhythm" and "livin") but switches to "feel your" ("rhythm" and "livin"), then repeats these last two lines and fades out.

BTW, is it just me or does the progression, especially in the intro, sound a little like the one in "867-5309/Jenny, Jenny?"

On reflection, forget that Am. It is too complex and turns this into a folk song.
