I have been looking for some chords for this song with no luck so, I thought it's
time to give it a shot.
It's not exact but close, any improvements please let me know, this was just a
little guess work for me.

The intro sounds kinda weird to me because of the recording I have but I play the
second verse chord section
 and it works.

Buddy Holly
Have you ever been lonely

                    D
Have you ever been lonely
                    A
Have you ever been blue
                       D
Have you ever loved someone
                 G D D7
Just as I love you

G
Can’t you see that I'm sorry
                   D
For the mistake I made
                      A
Can’t you see that I changed dear
                     C D D7
Can’t you see I’ve paid

                D
Be a little forgiving
                      A
Take me back in your heart
                   D
How can I go on living
              G D D7
While we’re apart

       G D
If you knew what I’d been through
          A G D
Then you know why I ask you
                         A
Have you ever been lonely
G D D7 G D D7
Have you ever been blue

Thanks for posting this, it's a nice little song. The chords presented here, however, are far off, I think - too far off to even start correcting.
It's true, the recording is very basic and demo-like and the instruments are not really in tune, so it's difficult to figure out what is being played. Still, it's a fairly conventional song and with a little imagination I worked out a version that I think sounds well.
