[Intro]
Asus2 Asus2 Asus2 Asus2

[Verse 1]
D G Em Asus2 Asus2 Asus2
Why do lovers park down deserted lanes?
     D G Em Asus2 Asus2
near haunted houses or homes for the insane?
        Em Asus2 D G Gsus2 G
Like a deformed son who was locked in a shed
Em Asus2 D G Gsus2 G Gsus2
Later escaped when he chopped off their heads

Why do axe murderers only attack
            D G Em Asus2 Asus2
when you're partially nude or you're taking a bath?
Em Asus2 D G Gsus2 G
Though there are times I feel softer than most
Em A D G Gsus2 G Gsus2
Somedays like yogurt and some days like toast

Sorority girls and fraternity boys

Always deflowered - they're rich and they're spoiled
      Em Asus2 D G Gsus2 G
So we never feel bad when Aunt Betty, who's dead

surprises them lying on her wedding bed

When we're making love now, I feel so exposed

Might you impale me or turn into those

creatures that feed on the flesh of the living

They hide in the corn between June and Thanksgiving

On the album Camper Vantiquities, this is played in Eb by tuning 1/2 step down and starting the verses with an E chord. This version has capo on 1st fret and starts the verse with a D chord (maintaining key of Eb). Think of this like a fast waltz in 3/4 time, strumming a 1-2-3 beat to each chord you see written. Pay close attention, as the number of measures per line varies within each verse. Assuming 3/4 time, each verse goes as follows: line one has 6 measures, line two has 5, line three has 6, and line four has 7. That is why there is one chord listed for each measure, and why occasionally a chord is repeated (to ensure the correct number of measures per line). The outtro has a more conventional structure of 8 measures per line, with one final D chord to finish off….
