[Verse]
F# A
Apologies to future me's and you's
F# A
But I can't help feeling like we're through
E D
The ripping of the tape hurts my ears
      E F# A
In my years, I've never seen anyone quit quite like you do

Twin bruises on my shins
F# A
From where I kicked the back of the seat in
     E D
They meant, what I went through for you
                E F# A
But now they're fading, now they're gone

E B A B (x4)

F# A F# A
These teenage hands will never touch yours again
      E D
but I remember you, you had a body
        E F# A
you had hands and arms and legs and et cetera

F# A
Stuck in a body, stuck in a mind
F# A
Stuck in one body, stuck in one mind
                           E D
for the rest of your life
                              E F# A
this is the rest of your life

F#
Why did God throw you down upon my head
A
Making shock yellow light emit from my nostrils
F#
And smoke pour from my ears and my hair stand up on end
A
I was fried alive and now I’m a target for next time
E D
Leviathan was powerful and inevitable
E F# A
I fell in love with my fate as it crushed me to death

[Chorus]
               E B A B
We've gotta go back, we've gotta go back (x8)

F# A F# A E D E F# A
          OOOOOOOO

             NACHAM

D C#m Bm A (x2)

[Verse]
D C#m
Don't get too impressed, you might lose your breath
Bm A
Don't predict your death, cause I like you the best
D C#m
Don't you fall apart, you might lose my heart
Bm A
You know I love your art

[Chorus]
D C#m Bm A (x3)

    D C#m Bm A
For three transgressions of Wurtz, and for four I will not revoke the punishment
    D C#m Bm A
For three transgressions of Will, and for four I will not revoke the punishment (x3)

    D C#m
For three transgressions of Wurtz, and for four I will not revoke the punishment
    Bm A
For sending me an invitation, for selling yourself quietly
    D C#m
For three transgressions of Will, and for four I will not revoke the punishment
    Bm A
For falling in love too hard, You'll never step foot in this town again
    D C#m
For three transgressions of Wurtz, and for four I will not revoke the punishment
            Bm
Why did you tell me to come in the first place?
            A
Why did you tell me to come in the first place?
            D
Why did you tell me to come in the first place?
            C#m
Why did you tell me to come in the first place?
            Bm
Why did you tell me? Why did you tell me?
            A
Why did you, why did, why did, why, why did ya?

[Outro]
D C#m Bm A

   D C#m
He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.”
Bm A
Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces
           D C#m
before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD
      Bm A
was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire;
      D
and after the fire a sound of sheer silence.
