Song title:BODY SURFING
Artist: Santana
Music/ Lyrics: Carlos Santana & Alexander J. Ligertwood
Album: Shangó.
Tab by: JC Rea(jcrp_21@hotmail.com)

This is a very rhythmic song, and it's very easy to play it, because there are
no complicated solos or riffs. So, the only you have to do is listen to the song
before trying to play it.

*INTRO PART:

   Play this four times...
 E----0----0----0----0----0----0----0----0--------|
 B-----1----1----1----1----0----0----0----0-------|
 G------2----2----2----2----2----2----2----2------|
 D-3-----3----3----3----3----3----3----3----3-----|
 A------------------------------------------------|
 E------------------------------------------------|

....and then, the intro part finishes with:

 E-0----0----0----0----0-----0--------------------|
 B--0----0----0----0----0----3--------------------|
 G---0----0----0----0----0---4--------------------|
 D---------------------------5--------------------|
 A---------------------------5--------------------|
 E------------------------------------------------|

*FIRST VERSE:

                           GMaj Am Am
 E-------------------------0--0--0--0---0---5----------|
 B--------------5---5------3--3--1--1---0---5----------|
 G---------------5---5-----4--4--2--2---0---5----------|
 D----------------7---7----5--5--3--3---0---7----------|
 A-------------------------5--5--3--3---0---7----------|
 E--------------------------------------0---5----------|
"Took a walk, ...down by the o--

 E------------0--0--0--0---0---5----------|
 B-5---5------3--3--5--5---0---5----------|
 G--5---5-----4--4--5--5---0---5----------|
 D---7---7----5--5--7--7---0---7----------|
 A------------5--5--7--7---0---7----------|
 E-------------------------0---5----------|
  --cean..." "I...

 E------------0--0--0--0---0---5----------|
 B-5---5------3--3--1--1---0---5----------|
 G--5---5-----4--4--2--2---0---5----------|
 D---7---7----5--5--3--3---0---7----------|
 A------------5--5--3--3---0---7----------|
 E-------------------------0---5----------|
 ...was alone, ...nothing on my...

 E------------0---------------------------|
 B-5---5------3---------------------------|
 G--5---5-----4---------------------------|
 D---7---7----5---------------------------|
 A------------5---------------------------|
 E----------------------------------------|
 ...mind".

It's the same for the other two verses.

*CHORUS:

 E------------------------5--5--7--7--------|
 B------------------------5--5--8--8--------|
 G------------------------5--5--9--9--------|
 D---------------2--------7--7--9--9--------|
 A-----------0-3---3-0----7--7--7--7--------|
 E-0-3-0-3-0--------------5--5--7--7--------|
                      "...Big Kahuna..."

 E--------------7--7--5--5------------------|
 B--------------8--8--5--5------------------|
 G--------------9--9--5--5------------------|
 D-----2--------9--9--7--7------------------|
 A-0-3---3-0-0--7--7--7--7------------------|
 E--------------7--7--5--5------------------|
           "...tide was high..."

 E----------------5--5--7--7--5--5--7--7---0---0------------|
 B----------------5--5--8--8--5--5--8--8---0---1------------|
 G----------------5--5--9--9--5--5--9--9---0---2------------|
 D-------2--------7--7--9--9--7--7--9--9---0---2------------|
 A---0-3---3-0----7--7--7--7--7--7--7--7---0---0------------|
 E-0--------------5--5--7--7--5--5--7--7---0---0------------|
"...I begin body surfing for my life."

Then, play Intro, verse and chorus parts again. After chorus part this is next:

 E------------------------------------------------|
 B------------------------------------------------|
 G------------------------------------------------|
 D-----2--------2-----------2------0--------------|
 A-0-0------0-0-----------5------0----------------|
 E--------0-----------3-3------3------------------|(X2 times)

Then, the chords for the next part are:
      Am GMaj
 E----5----- -----3-----|
 B----5----- -----3-----|
 G----5----- -----4-----|
 D----7----- and -----5-----|
 A----7----- -----5-----|
 E----5----- -----3-----|

So, you have to listen to the song to learn the rythm. It's not difficult.

This riff is heard during this part:
 E------------------------------------------------|
 B------------------------------------------------|
 G------------------------------------------------|
 D------------------------------------------------|
 A------------------------------------------------|
 E-5-5-5-5-----5-5-5-5----3-3-3-3-----3-3-3-3-----|

Finally, this song finishes with the chorus part again.
So, that's it!

As you can see, it's very easy to play this song, but if you have any question or
comment, you can contact me at: jcrp_21@hotmail.com
 Cheers.

Hi. I write because I'd like to correct my own tab. After tabbing this song out, and submitted it to this website, I kept on studying this song, hearing it and playing it several times. I've found that the chords I used to make this tab are correct, but I'd like to make some changes, that make it sound better:
- For GMaj chords I used 320003 and 355433, but it sounds better and more accurate with this chord:GMaj 055430.
- And for Am chords I used 577555, but this one sounds better:AMaj 07755x.

Cheers,
