Well while I'm banned I may as well do something constructive. So here are the chords
an absolutely fantastic song by Chris Knight. Its very simple and if you want to get an
of how to play it listen to the song. Which if your here your probably already will have done.

VERSE 1

     C G C G
Well I work for the city in the town where I grew up.
C G Em C
Some days I run a backhoe some days I run a dump.
                G C G
If I had other plans on my graduation day,
C G Em C
Then several years ago I guess I hauled ‘em all away.
                       G

Yeah I hauled ‘em all away.

VERSE 2

     C G C G
She told me she was pregnant on the day I turned 18.
C G Em C
I did what your supposed to do. I bought her a ring.
                   G C G
He didn’t have to ask us, but he asked us anyway.
C G Em C
We stood up and said, “I do.” what else were we gonna say?
                        G
What else were we gonna say?

CHORUS

           D
Well I’m thankful for the things I have,
    Em C
And all the things I don’t.
 D
I’ve got dreams that will come true,
    Em C
And I’ve got some that won’t.
D Em C
Most the time I just walk the line wherever it goes.
      G D C G
‘Cuz you can’t hang yourself if you ain’t got enough rope.

VERSE 3

     C G C G
My boss man is mad. I did just what he asked.
  C G Em C
I mowed the courthouse lawn watched the prisoners walkin’ past
                 G C G
I’m happy to be working, instead of wearin’ chains.
C G Em C
Like my cousin Willy, he’s locked up in the grange.
                       G
He’s locked up in the grange.

CHORUS
           D
But I’m thankful for the things I have,
    Em C
And all the things I don’t.
 D
I’ve got dreams that will come true,
     Em C
I’ve got some that won’t.
D Em C
Most the time I just walk the line wherever it goes.
      G D C G
‘Cuz you can’t hang yourself if you ain’t got enough rope.

VERSE 4

             C G C G
There’s a tavern down the highway, I go to drink some beers.
     C G Em C
And wash down all I’m missin’ by hangin’ around here.
                          G C G
Then I drive back to the trailer; I’ll makeup with my wife.
  C G Em C
I kiss my sleeping children, and I get on with my life.
                       G
Yeah I get on with my life.

Overall, very good. I agree with the above changes. Also, walk down from all G to Em. Oh, and the boss is the mayor, not mad. Although he could be both.
